After living in Chicago for a year I have noticed something very interesting about myself and my fellow Northern Michiganders, we take our warmth very seriously. If we have to bundle up this much to go outside we might as well look good. All too often I hear, "You must be warm", "I wish I had mittens", and my personal favorite, "Wow, you look so Michigan-y." I just reply with a warm smile and offer them my spare set of mittens.
